PROFILE

His research focuses on environment and health, and micro-environment air pollution, and process mechanism and pollution control technology as well. On average people spends 70% of their life time in micro- environment where the pollutants come from the release from internal sources, and the influx of outside air. However, the health effects due to pollution in micro-environment are generally underestimated. The major pollutants in micro-environment are organic pollutants and particulate matters. It is necessary to study the source, composition, and health effects of their pollutants. His team has established a method for detecting volatile organic compounds, identifying its sources and composition and assessing its health effects in micro-enviroment. He is developing a method for the same purpose with improved precision and accuracy.
