On November 2, Professor Susana Mourato, Vice President and Pro Vice Chancellor (Research) of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and Professor Giles Atkinson, Department of Geography and Environment of LSE, visited the College of Environmental Sciences and Engineering (CESE) of Peking University. LIU Yong, Dean of CESE, and Professor ZHANG Shiqiu, CHEN Qi, DAI Hancheng, and QIN Yue participated in the discussion.
LIU Yong warmly welcomed the LSE delegation, and Professor ZHANG Shiqiu gave an overview of CESE and the PKU-LSE double degree program, respectively. The two parties then conversed and discussed a variety of topics, including the project's implementation, student experiences, and the evaluation system, as well as offering insightful input on the program's future direction. Following the discussion, both parties engaged in extensive communication and agreed on how to further develop academic cooperation.
On November 3, Professor Atkinson met with the PKU-LSE Double degree program students at CESE. Professor Atkinson and the students had a friendly conversation during which they talked about their areas of interest. Professor Atkinson also gave the students an overview of London life and the courses offered throughout the LSE academic year.
PKU-LSE Double Degree Program Introduction
(Environmental Policy, Technology and Health)
The program is a two-year full-time double degree program jointly organized by the College of Environmental Sciences and Engineering of Peking University and the Department of Geography and Environment of the London School of Economics and Political Science. Students will spend the first year of study in Beijing and the second year in London, and the final graduation is based upon the successful completion of both years of study. Since 2021, the program has successfully enrolled 30 students from more than 11 counties.
