Prof. Collett received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from MIT and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering Science from California Institute of Technology. He is currently the head of the Department of Atmospheric Science, Colorado State University, USA.
Prof. Collett’s research is in the areas of atmospheric chemistry and air quality. Current efforts focus on examining interactions of clouds and fogs with aerosol particles and trace gases, improving understanding of the sources, transport and deposition of reactive nitrogen in the Rocky Mountain region, studying the impacts of prescribed and wildfires on air quality, developing new techniques for on-line characterization of aerosol particle composition, and characterizing emissions from oil and gas development.
