To guide young graduate students in deeply learning and implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, to earnestly study and understand Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, to strengthen the political education of young graduate students, and to inspire young graduate students of the new era to take on responsibilities in the great cause of national rejuvenation and nation-building, on the afternoon of November 18th,  College of Environmental Sciences and Engineering, in conjunction with the School of Environment of Tsinghua University, School of Materials Science and Engineering, School of Environment & Natural Resources of Renmin University of China, jointly organized the "Joint Party and Youth League Construction for Synergy, Collaborative Learning for New Chapters", a joint learning and building activity among Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Renmin University of China.

Over 150 party members from 14 party branches of the College of Environmental Sciences and Engineering of Peking University, the School of Environment and the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Tsinghua University, and the School of Environment & Natural Resources of Renmin University of China participated in the event, including students from the Tsinghua University Graduate Students' Party Activists Learning Class. The event was hosted by Wang Huijing, Secretary of the Graduate Youth League General Branch of the School of Environment of Tsinghua University.

Xi Jingying warmly welcomed the arrival of the students. He expressed his hope that the event, through "Joint Party and Youth League Classes, Teacher-Student Building, and On-and-Off Campus Building" at three levels, would provide an environment for students to exchange, learn together, and make collective progress, and he wished the event a complete success.

Jia Tieying pointed out that although the three universities have different origins, they all share the mission of contributing to the nation and the country. He expressed that, as students of environmental-related majors, they should strive in the field of science and technology to address the challenges of the times. He hoped that the students would concentrate their spirits during this event to deeply understand, contemplate, and construct, jointly realizing the mission and responsibility the era bestows on the youth.

In the theoretical learning session, Zhang Bo, using the Party's grassroots organization construction since the reform and opening up as an entry point, delivered a lecture on "Strengthening the Construction of the Party's Grassroots Organizations". Through popularizing knowledge of the types and construction features of grassroots Party organizations in China, he emphasized the vital role of grassroots organizations as the "cells" within the Party's organizational system. He pointed out that Party branches bear the responsibilities of educating, managing, supervising Party members, and organizing, propagating, uniting, and serving the masses. Party organizations in universities should perform related work well, playing both a political and organizational role.

Zhang Bo gave a thematic lecture

During the thematic sharing session, Wei Yifan introduced the concept and innovative achievements of the Doctoral Student Lecturer Group of Tsinghua University. He stated that integrating lectures with ideological leadership work is a consensus formed by Tsinghua University's Graduate Student Committee and the School of Environment's Graduate Committee, and it is also an effective method and strategy to fulfill General Secretary Xi Jinping's "Three-Pronged Education" requirements.

At the event, representatives of Party branch secretaries from Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Renmin University of China shared their thoughts, outcomes, and experiences on Party construction work.

Xiao Yilong, the Party branch secretary of the graduate students in the Department of Environmental Health at the College of Environmental Sciences and Engineering of Peking University, shared the organizational framework and branch construction features of the Party organization in the School, fully demonstrating the innovative practices, typical experiences, and successful practices in Party construction work at the grassroots level of the School.

Wang Zhihui, the Moral Education Assistant of the Party Committee's Research Work Department at Tsinghua University and the secretary of the Environmental Science and Engineering 233 Party branch shared thoughts and experiences on the Party construction work among graduate students at Tsinghua University and the School of Environment, encouraging students to set high standards for themselves as Party members and play a leading role.

Liu Jiayuan, the Party branch secretary of the Master's students in science and engineering disciplines at the School of Environment & Natural Resources of Renmin University of China, shared experiences in grassroots Party branch construction, offering valuable insights and lessons for Party branch construction.

All members, led by Wang Zhihui taking the oath, revisited the Party membership oath, reaffirming their ideals and clarifying their mission and responsibilities.

After the on-site event, students visited Tsinghua University's Second School Gate for a campus tour. Under the guidance of campus tour guides, they visited the Second School Gate, Tsinghua Academy, Wenting Lecture Station, Shuimu Tsinghua, and other on-campus red lecture stations and historical sites, gaining a deep understanding of Tsinghua's early history while experiencing Tsinghua's unique spiritual charm and cultural immersion.

Theoretical guidance and practical efforts enrich the soil for Party building. This joint learning and building activity brought comprehensive and in-depth reflections, inspiring all Party members to strengthen theoretical study, and leading youth members to shape their ideological and value systems. In the future, the schools will firmly grasp the overall requirements of "learning ideology, strengthening Party spirit, focusing on practice, and building new achievements", contributing to the ideological learning and organizational construction among universities, and promoting the educational function of Party and Youth League organizations.
